Our mission is to build a pipeline of ethical digital talent and investment-ready, technology-enabled African startups. We achieve this by investing in startups within the Edtech, Fintech, and Agtech sectors. Our venture studio startups address real-life challenges with innovative digital solutions. Since launching in 2017, we have refined our approach to focus strongly on job creation through our Venture Creative Desk. This initiative aims to launch innovative startups every year using the venture model for incubation. Our Edtech platform plays a significant role in our employability focus as an innovation hub. We have created a connection between our venture investments in startups and our employability efforts by training digital talent. This talent becomes a valuable source of affordable labor for entry-level startups looking to hire. Ultimately, we are bridging the gap between the need for creative businesses and providing a direct route to employment.
We are addressing the critical issue of access to jobs and entrepreneurship. With our entrepreneurship focus, we have launched a Venture Desk that uses venture creation models to develop and support startups. For our access to jobs initiative, we have established a Digital Skills Desk that trains individuals in data analysis, product development, software engineering, and digital marketing. This initiative also creates opportunities for paid internships and employment.
