Smallholder farmers in Kenya lack access to agricultural technologies to improve their yield output and end up using the wrong planting inputs. Rhea builds and conducts onsite soil analysis using IoT sensors and provides fertilizer use recommendations using Machine Learning. These recommendations ensure that farmers can make data informed decisions on fertilizer use and other sol remediation measures while lowering their input costs.Rhea does this to empower smallholder farmers, which a majority are women in rural set ups. Their model also targets to mitigate climate change by giving optimal fertilizer use and recommendations. That way, they can regulate damage to the environment by greenhouse gasses released by chemical fertilizers.
Rhea provides soil analysis as a service through proprietary iot sensor devices in real time and delivers data driven fertiliser use recommendations through a ML model to smallholder farmers making soil analysis timely accessible and convenient. The Rhea Agripad is a comprehensive hardware and software solution designed to democratize soil testing and empower smallholder farmers with real-time data-driven insights. Our product eliminates the barriers posed by expensive and inaccessible soil analysis laboratories
